At House of People, sustainability is an integral part of our operations. We work continuously to reduce our environmental impact through energy-efficient solutions, sustainable building materials, and responsible waste management. Our ambition is to offer a conference experience that is not only inspiring but also respectful of our planet.
The building has been renovated using eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient systems, and improved insulation. Electricity and water consumption are optimized, and many surfaces feature recycled or certified materials.
The in-house restaurant, Seasons, focuses exclusively on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Here, food and drinks reflect the rhythm of the year — from spring’s first harvest to autumn’s bounty. The kitchen’s philosophy is centered on reducing food waste, maximizing nutritional value, and using ingredients with the lowest possible climate impact.

Environmental commitments
We actively address environmental and sustainability issues by adhering to Green Key’s comprehensive criteria and we:
- use LED lighting and 100% renewable electricity, and have procedures in place to reduce energy consumption.
- sort and recycle both our own and our guests' waste.
- use 100% eco-labeled cleaning products for daily housekeeping.
- have taken initiatives to reduce water consumption.
- offer our guests organic products for conference meals.
- work to reduce food waste.
- respect our building, carrying out careful renovations that prioritize reuse to avoid the unnecessary use of newly manufactured materials.
- As a company, we have joined Krogar mot Knark (Restaurants Against Drugs), an initiative promoting a safe, drug-free work environment.
- actively collaborate with clients to create sustainable meetings; for example, we provide paper and pens only upon request.
- eliminate or minimize the use of single-use materials.
- eights are automatically turned off via motion sensors.
How can you help us?
You can help us reduce our environmental impact by keeping the following in mind:
- Travel to and from our facility using more eco-friendly modes of transport—ideally public transport, such as SL and SJ services.
- Consider exploring the surrounding area by bike. From April 15, 2025, you will be able to rent e-bikes from two different companies on the city streets. A total of 2,000 e-bikes will be available for rent. These are provided by Bolt and Voi; both companies are licensed to deploy 1,000 bikes each. Source: Hyrcyklar - Stockholms stad
- Place packaging in our recycling bins, and we will sort the waste for you.
- Avoid food waste—for example, by not taking more food than you can finish.
About Green Key
Green Key is an international eco-label for the tourism and hospitality industry, operating in over 90 countries. The label is managed internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and is supported by organizations such as UNEP and UNWTO. All establishments undergo regular audits to ensure compliance with the criteria.
